Why is frequent prayer important for muslims

This means everyday there are about a billion people praying at the same time, in the same direction, saying the same prayer. Another important reason for prayer is that it is said to keep Muslims humble. During their obligatory prayers, Muslims spend much of it kneeling, even placing their foreheads to the ground. To spend five times a day in a humble position keeps Muslims mindful that they are small on this earth and that Allah is the main purpose for living.

Muslims are required to pray five times a day, known as Salat. There is a process of physical purification before the prayer, where the hands, arms, face and other extremities are washed with water. The prayer itself consists of different physical postures alongside verbal prayers. No other religious community shows such devotion to prayer.

The Salat is one of the five pillars of Islam, or actions in Islam, and therefore, great emphasis is laid upon performing it. The Prophet Muhammad sa , the Founder of Islam, explained that as worshipping God is our primary objective, to abandon Salat knowingly would therefore be equivalent to disbelief. He said:.

The daily prayers are a way for a Muslim to show his thankfulness to Allah, and to get an opportunity to be in communion with Him. Muslims are taught to love Allah. Therefore, the prayers are not a burden, rather something that Muslims look forward to doing. The purpose of our lives as Muslims is to grow closer to Allah, and sins impede that progress.

The daily prayers purify Muslims and remove inclination to sin. The man asked again and again. The truth is the ultimate goal that a Muslim must accomplish in this life.

By performing the prayers every 5 times will make a Muslim a pious person taqwa. The pious person is the person who always keeps the limit of prohibition and command of Allah. But when you become secure, re-establish regular prayer. Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times. Protection from Satan Satan always tries to prevent Muslims from doing things right. With do the prayers, it will protect us from Satan. Allah Almighty says in Quran :.

So will you not desist? The other important of prayer is, the prayer can prevent a person from all the lewdness that is common in the world today, a Muslim should find refuge in prayer as it will help in terms of evil.

Performing prayer is an effective weapon when it comes to fighting lewdness and evils of all sorts, as Allah says in the Quran :. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do. While we perform a prayer, actually we turn and meet our Lord five times a day.

Every prayer that we perform in a day, Allah should wipe away some of the evil deeds that we performed. In addition, prayer is a good deed and it is a type of purification for the human being.

Performing a prayer is the way of remembrance of Allah. Performing it with purity of heart, sincerity, reverence, awareness, and repentance, Allah will accept our prayer. Allah said in the Quran.
