A police officer who shot dead an Indigenous woman carrying a knife on a suburban West Australian street has walked free after being acquitted of her murde r.
The accused officer wept in the dock as the jury also returned a not guilty verdict to the lesser charge of manslaughter. The accused was one of eight police officers who swarmed on the street where JC was seen carrying a large knife and a pair of scissors. JC, a mother-of-one, had experienced significant mental health and drug problems and recently been released from prison when she was shot dead by the accused from close range while surrounded by police vehicles in Geraldton.
The reception staff were pleasant, the furniture is outdated The food options is very limited if someone has special diets. Our room was not properly cleaned or stocked when we arrived. I tried to ring reception but no-one answered. I then saw the staff member who welcomed us at reception when we arrived he was delivering food next door and informed him. He brought a vaccum cleaner to our room and cleaned it himself, saying they are understaffed.
We were also missing some towels. The outside looks like a motel, the inside had been refurbished but was looking a bit battered. It was fine for our hour overnight stay but could be better. Great for a stop over heading north, friendly staff, decent evening meal and breakfast. Stopped on the way up North and on the way back down. Comfortable clean beds, decent evening meal, and breakfast.
Very helpful friendly staff. Colin C. Pryscyla C. Great care by Jade. She was attentive and she make sure everything was fine. A special thanks to her. It's been nearly 12 months since the last time i stayed at the Ibis Styles in Geraldton and have to say, the same friendly professional staff made our stay a pleasant experience.
Can certainly recommend this property to anyone travelling through Geraldton. One of the better hotels in Geraldton, with a great swimming pool.
The food is excellent with guests being able to choose what they would like from an extensive menu, even making sure the eggs were cooked to my liking. First impression of the room was disappointing. Looked like a room at a contractors camp. However, the bed was comfortable.
Shower was great. Good pressure. Cooked breakfast was 1st class. Location was good. I found the room is in need of a revamp, vibrant cooling colours, TV wall mounted for better viewing, replace bed as was uncomfortable and noisy, chairs looked tattered. Floors still had pooling water on arrival. Good value! Nice and clean room with daily service.
Easy to parking just in front of each room. The staff are very friendly and keen to help especially Ros from reception and ladies from restaurants. It was me and my finance first time to Geraldton and we enjoyed our stay her and will recommend it to our friends and families!!
